31 March 2020 New laws for takeaway liquor sales When you go to purchase takeaway alcohol and your ID indicates that you are not a local resident or does not include an address, the licensee is required to ask where you intend to consume the alcohol.

Greater Darwin region

Date Notice Description
15 January 2021 Exercise of emergency powers by Director of Liquor Licensing - take away liquor sales Please accept this as a further notice of variation to the licence conditions for takeaway liquor licences across the Top End of the Northern Territory, issued under the emergency powers contained in section 257 of the Liquor Act 2019.
14 September 2020 Emergency powers determination The Director of Liquor Licensing determined the use of emergency powers under the provisions of the Liquor Act to introduce liquor restrictions for the Greater Darwin area.
