Funding available for unique solutions to address workforce shortages

Local businesses and industry with unique ideas to overcome workforce shortages in the Territory are encouraged to apply for support under the Flexible Workforce Solution Fund.

The Fund encourages local business and industry to collaborate on projects and activities that help them to attract and retain the skilled workforce they need.

Grants of up to $200,000 are available to consortiums on a 25:75 co-contribution basis. This means the consortium only have to contribute 25% of the total works while the Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund covers 75% of the total. The 25% co-contribution for Not-for-profit organisations can be in-kind.

Eligible projects and activities could include seasonal workforce strategies, leveraging new technology or innovation or delivery of direct, in-country worker recruitment services

The Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund is an initiative under the Territory Governments $12.8 million Workforce Package which was established to address critical workforce shortages in the Territory.

The $3 million Fund will be overseen by the Territory Workforce Advisory Group, which was established in March 2022 and comprises of Territory business owners and industry leaders across aviation, construction, hospitality, human services, agriculture and ICT.

Expressions of interest are now open.

Businesses and peak industry bodies can submit their expressions of interest via Grants NT.

As part of the registration process, proposed projects must also be submitted.

The Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund will operate over 2 funding rounds. The first round will close 15 August 2022.
