The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade held the yearly Female Reduction Sale on Wednesday 4 August 2021. The sale saw 100 Brahman and 50 Tropical Composite cows on offer, with 137 cows bought through the auction. The average Brahman price was just over $3,000 with a top price of $5,000. The average Composite price was just over $2,100 with a top price of $3,400. These cows have been involved in the same long-standing research projects as the bulls.

Overall, it was a very successful sale, with many return buyers across the Northern Territory Queensland. It is a fantastic opportunity for quality northern genetics to be shared with Industry, promoting the production and profitability of the northern beef herd. We are already looking forward to another successful sale in 2022.
