NT Racing and Wagering Commission nominations now open
Nominations are now being sought for appointment to the NT Racing and Wagering Commission.
The positions include:
- Chairperson
- Deputy Chairperson
- legal member
- 2 other members.
The NTRWC will replace the old Northern Territory Racing Commission and will come into effect on 1 July 2024.
All candidates must be residents of the Territory, and:
- have demonstrable knowledge or experience of the thoroughbred, harness or greyhound racing industries, the online wagering industry or the broader online gambling industry
- other knowledge or experience that enables the person to assist the Commission.
In addition to the above requirements, the successful candidates for the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and legal member must have a law degree and have been admitted to the practice of law for at least five years (although a current practising certificate is not required).
Nominations are open until Wednesday, 1 May.
