Freight subsidy assistance for primary producers

Freight Subsidy Disaster Assistance is now available for primary producers who have been impacted by the Barkly region bushfire event in September 2023 (AGRN 1068).

The freight subsidy provides reimbursement for transport costs associated with:

  • moving emergency fodder for livestock
  • removal of stock from the impacted area
  • replacement of buildings for livestock
  • fencing repairs
  • machinery and equipment associated with livestock
  • replacing animals lost from the event.

If approved, you can get reimbursement of 50% of the freight costs up to the value of $5,000.

Applications will close on 3 September 2024.

The Freight Subsidy Disaster Assistance is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and NT Government under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
