Civic and State Square Revitalisation Site Surveys and Investigations

Published

In November 2022, the Northern Territory Government announced the next stages of the Civic and State Square Revitalisation.

The Revitalisation forms part of the Northern Territory Government’s historic Darwin City Deal, delivered in partnership with the Australian Government and the City of Darwin, and will transform the precinct into a welcoming and interactive green space in Darwin’s CBD.

The next stages of the project will be delivered by local company, Sitzler Pty Ltd, and include the development of a Master Plan for the Civic and State Square Park.

The Master Plan aims to tell the stories of the landscape and its human history, while strengthening the connections between Territorians and their civic and cultural institutions through place-making.

Sitzler will be on site over the next few weeks to undertake site surveys and investigations of existing services to help develop and form a baseline for development of the Master Plan. If specific access to buildings or sites is required the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) or Sitzler will seek approval from relevant stakeholders prior to investigations taking place.
