Workforce grants now open
Registered training organisations (RTO) and industry associations can now access government funding to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs that will increases employment opportunities for Territorians and disadvantaged groups in the community.
The Equity Training Program and Pre-Employment Training Program are core components of the Territory Government’s workforce grant initiatives. Both programs are designed to create more opportunities for Territorians to get ahead and gain ongoing employment.
Investing in training for Territorians benefit local business and ensures employees have access to and retention of a suitably skilled workforce.
Developing training programs through industry engagement with RTOs helps address critical workforce shortages, skills gaps, promotes workforce attraction and retention in priority sectors across the Territory and will transform our local workforce.
There are two training programs open for funding applications:
- Equity Training Program: helping to remove barriers by accessing skilled training that supports equity groups.
- Pre-Employment Training Program: programs to give people a lead into an industry or vocation including an element of work experience where appropriate.
The Equity Training Program and Pre-Employment Program are both competitive grant programs.
Applications are now open and close Friday, 2nd September 2022.
