Recent fieldwork at the Douglas Daly Research Farm

Published

The annual 400 day data collection for the selected Brahman and Composite yearlings took place in December 2021, with some of the high performance cattle to be made available for sale in July 2022.

Katherine Livestock Industries team members Gretel and Christie, and Darwin-based Acting Livestock Director and Principal Livestock Research Scientist, Tim Schatz, travelled to Douglas Daly Research Farm to undertake the data collection.

The data collected during this testing contributes to decision making for projects, which allow the department to produce a highly fertile herd that is made available to the industry through our annual bull and cow sales.

Find out more about the testing and projects in the NT Rural Review.
