Let the Innovation Games begin

Published

The first of three challenges in the Northern Territory series of the National Innovation Games will take place this week, bringing together our best and brightest industry leaders and tertiary students to support business growth and local job creation.

The National Innovation Games launched in 2019, is a series of innovation challenges taking place across Australia, held virtually and in-person. This is the first time the games will be delivered for the Territory.

Territory business and their employees will collaborate with industry leaders, government representatives and students to address energy challenges and opportunities faced by business.

The Northern Territory series of challenges will discover opportunities in renewable energy. It will also support continued progress towards the Territory’s target of 50% renewables by 2030.

The games will help businesses develop the technology and support needed to make the switch to renewables and optimising energy.

Five Territory businesses will compete in the first challenge, which addresses the following question 'How can technology assist businesses to better understand the requirements and benefits of converting to renewables?'

Registrations are now open for challenges two and three, which are taking place on 22 April, and 23 and 24 June 2021.
