The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, in conjunction with Meat and Livestock Australia and the Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association will be holding a field day on 25 August 2021 followed by a BeefUp Forum on 26 August 2021 at the Victoria River Research Station (VRRS).

VRRS is a 31,400 hectare research facility located in the iconic and productive Victoria River District and an important contributor to the northern Australia beef cattle industry.

Northern Territory beef producers and pastoral industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to network with expert speakers and learn more about recent research outcomes and developing issues and opportunities within the industry, including:

  • landscape carbon management and commercial opportunities
  • maximising the beef enterprise profitability
  • effective rangeland management.

This important industry event aims to address the growing interest surrounding carbon management, maximising production with available resources, the ever-changing market and future ramifications and diversification of the northern Australia beef cattle production systems.

Suppliers interested in hosting a trade display are encouraged to contact the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade’s Livestock Industry Development Livestock Extension Officer Eleanor Fordyce eleanor.fordyce@nt.gov.au.
