2020 NT Training Award finalists announced
The 2020 Northern Territory Training Awards finalists have been announced, celebrating excellence in the Territory’s vocational education and training (VET) sector.
This year, the Northern Territory Training Awards broke a new record with 103 nominations received across 12 categories, comprising of 82 individuals and 21 organisations nominated for awards.
The 2020 finalists represent a wide range of industries including construction, IT, education, fitness business, engineering, electro technology, environmental science conservation and land management, digital media and technology and community engagement.
Now is it 65th year the Northern Territory Training Awards celebrate the achievements of Territorians in the VET sector and recognises the outstanding contribution made by our local trainees, apprentices, employers and training providers.
VET plays an important role in future proofing our workforce and enables Territorians to adapt to the working world at a much faster rate.
Developing a strong local workforce’s means local business can take advantage of new opportunities and support the economic development of the Northern Territory.
The record breaking number of nominations demonstrate the wealth of talent and experience the Territory has to meet our current and future workforce needs.
As the Territory rebounds from COVID-19, it is now more important than ever to celebrate and appreciate the achievements exhibited by the VET sector.
The winners will be announced at the gala awards night on Saturday 19 September 2020 at the Darwin Convention Centre, with eligible category winners progressing to the Australian Training Awards.
The awards program will comply with COVID-19 restrictions in place including physical distancing measures.
