Department attends the 34th Northern Territory Cattlemen's Association Conference
The Department of Primary Industry and Resources proudly sponsored last week’s 34th Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA) Industry Conference.
The conference was hosted by the NTCA Alice Springs, at the Alice Springs Convention Centre and included the NTCA Annual General Meeting, Ladies Luncheon, Conference and Gala Dinner as part of the two-day program.
The department had the opportunity to come together with producers and pastoralists to present the latest in:
- Supplementary feeding investigations – achieving production targets through critical time feeding strategies
- Producer demonstration sites – this project provides opportunities for producers to participate and obtain assistance in the implementation and trialing of new technologies
- Forage production investigation – how locally grown and increased forage production can be a cost effective supplementary feed option for cattle
- Bluetongue virus - what this means for producers.
The conference is the foremost annual beef industry event in northern Australia and is attended by delegates from the Northern Territory, Australia and overseas.
The department offers a range of services, projects and programs to support and enhance the economic growth and viability of existing and emerging primary industries.
