NT Recreational Fishing Grants Scheme

The Northern Territory (NT) Recreational Fishing Grants Scheme (NTRFGS) is funded by the NT Government’s $50 million RecFishing Futures Program and administered by the Fisheries division of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade.

Recognising the social and economic value of recreational fishing, the scheme will offer grant funding for community projects that grow and support recreational fishing in the Territory.

The NTRFGS will offer grant funding to eligible organisations for projects and activities that directly improve recreational fishing experiences and opportunities in the NT.

Eligible not-for-profit organisations can apply for small grants of up to $15,000, or large grants up to $100,000, for projects and activities that align with the objectives of the NTRFGS.

Applications for the 2024 round will close on 29 April 2024.

Applications that are deemed successful will be notified by August.

To be considered for funding you must:

  • be a Territory Enterprise
  • be an incorporated body
  • have no outstanding acquittals from a previous Territory recreational fishing grant fund
  • be able to complete the project in 12 months.

Please note that projects on private land with no public access will not be considered.
