Agricultural field days

The department hosts several agricultural field days throughout the year. The field days generally take place at one of the department’s seven research farms, forming a key part of the department’s extension program.

The purpose of field days is to:

  • demonstrate the latest department research
  • discuss the challenges impacting producers and growers
  • showcase technology and innovation, and
  • support knowledge sharing between government, industry and producers.

Extension encourages the uptake of research and technology on farms to improve outcomes for Northern Territory agricultural producers.

Field days reinforce the department’s support on the ground to deliver greater ‘on farm’ impact of research work.

The department invites interested pastoralists, growers, business owners, industry organisations and research bodies to attend agricultural field days.
