About the Northern Territory global worker attraction campaign

The Northern Territory (NT) Government kick started 2022 with a global worker attraction campaign to encourage skilled workers from interstate and overseas to move to the Territory.

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade developed the campaign to grow a skilled and capable workforce to meet business and community needs now and into the future by:

  • supporting Territory businesses in their workforce requirements
  • achieving an increase in skilled workers relocating to the Northern Territory
  • raising the profile of the Northern Territory in the target market as a desirable and safe place to live, work, invest and do business
  • growing the Territory population to achieve their vision of a $40 billion economy by 2030 through sustainable and competitive industries.

Phase 1 of the digital marketing campaign was called ‘Seek change’ went live on 24 March 2022 until 30 June.

Phase 2 of the campaign is called ‘Make it to the Top’ and is now live until 31 December.

The campaign targets skilled and semi-skilled workers aged between 18 and 45 in Australia, New Zealand, London, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Italy, Vietnam, South Africa, Taiwan, Indonesia, Colombia, Brazil, Ireland and the Philippines.

The digital campaign will run across Seek, CareerOne, Facebook and Instagram.

The following industries will be targeted based off industry feedback and data received from Seek during phase 1 of our Global Worker Attraction Campaign:

  • administration and office support
  • community services and development
  • construction
  • education and training
  • engineering
  • healthcare and medical
  • hospitality and tourism
  • manufacturing, transport and logistics
  • mining, resources and energy
  • retails and consumer products
  • trades and services.
