Asia Fruit Logistica

Asia Fruit Logistica (AFL) is Asia’s leading trade show, covering the entire fresh produce industry value chain and its service support companies. Each year, 13,000 trade visitors from more than 40 countries attend to see the latest innovative products, ideas in the horticulture sector and forge agri-import-export relationships.

The Northern Territory Government, in partnership with Hort Innovation, will represent the Territory’s horticulture partner producers at AFL in Hong Kong. This initiative is part of Austrade’s ‘Grown in Good Nature’ campaign to unify Australian businesses, industries and government agencies seeking international export opportunities.

The Territory will use its strategic location, major production of high-quality mangoes, dragonfruit and other tropical fruit to expand its trade partnerships in Asia.

Northern Australia Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance

Australia’s Aboriginal people have been using Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana) for thousands of years as a native food and traditional medicine. Studies show Kakadu Plum has high levels of Vitamin C, antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds, making it a true superfood and grows in abundance across the Top End of Australia, refer 18-024.pdf (agrifutures.com.au).

Northern Australia Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance (NAAKPA) was formed by Aboriginal communities in North Australia aiming to commercialise Kakadu Plum and other Australian native foods. NAAKPA provides a network of support and information sharing to improve Traditional Owner led commercial supply chains. NAAKPA is run by its Aboriginal members through a board and supports its members by providing capacity building through food safety training, advocacy on intellectual property protection and putting buyers in direct contact with Aboriginal producers.
